The Bakery Photographic Collective educates and inspires the photographic community and the general public of southern Maine and beyond.

The Bakery Photographic Collective is dedicated to fostering a dynamic community where photography thrives as both an integral art form in our society and a means of expression. Our state-of-the-art facilities, available at affordable rates, serve both members and the public, promoting shared resources and knowledge to support photographers in their creative endeavors.

We are committed to education and training, offering a wide range of programs for budding photographers of all ages and backgrounds. Our workshops delve into crucial areas such as technical skills and storytelling methods, preparing participants to harness photography for advocacy and personal expression.

In addition, we curate captivating exhibitions and events that display the talents of new and seasoned photographers alike. These gatherings not only foster thoughtful dialogue and reflection but also serve as vital fundraising avenues, such as our renowned annual Photo A-GoGo exhibition. These efforts enable us to sustain our initiatives and expand our reach to even more communities.

Annual Photo A-GoGo

In order to reduce membership costs, the original Bakery crew launched Photo A-GoGo, a fundraiser and party featuring framed prints from local to nationally recognized photographers. The auction grew exponentially over the years, and after two decades and counting, Photo A-GoGo is now one of Maine’s most-beloved cultural events.
