The camera is a tool to bring me out of my shell. A permission slip to observe everyday life without seeming creepy. My subject matter is often scenes of friends softening from forest walks, city celebrations, and faraway travel. All, souvenirs of life in a frozen moment. Close to home I focus on the never-ending mystery of the portrait. I especially love environmental portraiture.
I've been involved with the Bakery since I moved from Brooklyn to Portland in 2008. I have taught photography courses to college students, and recently workshops to children. Currently I am shooting portraits, while also pursuing a degree in social work. I am so grateful to the Bakery Photo Collective and Nick Gervin for their untiring commitment to embettering Maine's photography community. Viva la photo!
