About Photo A-GoGo

Every December, for over two decades, the Bakery Photographic Collective has held our annual fine art photography exhibition and auction, famously known as Photo A-GoGo. The event has become one of southern Maine’s most-anticipated annual arts events-a memorable evening with live music, local drinks and eats, and a space full of friends and amazing photography.

Photo A-GoGo plays a crucial role in raising funds that support our photographic education and community outreach initiatives at The Bakery Photo Collective. This vibrant event brings together photographers, curators, and community members, fostering connections while celebrating the art of photography. The funds generated from each year’s GoGo directly contribute to workshops, classes, and resources that are made accessible to the public. By engaging the community in this interactive and creative environment, Photo A-GoGo not only highlights the importance of photography as an art form, but also ensures that essential educational opportunities are available for all, enriching the local cultural landscape. Thank you for your participation and generous support!

Address of event: Maine Studio Works. 170 Anderson St. Portland ME. 04101.

Date and time: December 13th 2024. Doors open at 6pm to 8pm

All bidding (remotely or in-person) starts at 6pm sharp.

What is a Hybrid Silent Auction?

In today's fast-paced digital era, we understand the importance of adapting and evolving while still preserving the essence of cherished traditions. Our Hybrid Silent Auction amalgamates the best elements of a traditional silent auction with the convenience and global reach of a virtual event.

Revel in the ambiance, as you take in the beauty of these exquisite photographs up close and personal. Immerse yourself in the party like atmosphere that ignites your passion for art, while mingling with fellow art enthusiasts, experts and fellow photographers.

But that's not all! The Hybrid Silent Auction also embraces technology to enhance your bidding experience. Seamlessly navigate through the catalog and place your bids at any time, from anywhere in the world. With just a few clicks, you can engage in friendly bidding wars and vie for the items that truly speak to your heart.

Automated bidding + max bids 📈

When you're prompted to Set your maximum bid, enter the maximum amount you'd like to spend on this item, and our system will automatically place bids for you (calculating the lowest price that would make you the winner), up to the maximum price you've specified.

    Automated bidding (max bid) example:

If you want to pay a maximum of $200 for an item with an opening bid of $100, enter $200 as your max bid.

If there isn't any competition, your bid will be placed at $100, and increased automatically, depending on bids submitted by others. Your bid will never exceed $200. If the price of the item goes beyond your max bid of $200, you'll need to place a new, higher bid on the item. You will only be charged if you win the item.

  • No, all bids at this year’s event will be placed electronically with your cell phone.

  • We will have several types of phone chargers available for all guests in our info room. Just ask our volunteers for assistance. We recommend making sure your phone is fully charged before attending the event. Also, feel free to bring your own phone charger if you like. We will have plenty of outlets accessible.

  • Please do NOT handle the artwork yourself. You will receive an email notification when you’ve won an item. Please have the email open on your phone and ready to show our staff at our checkout table. Our runners will then go fetch and wrap your item for you and meet you back at the pick up table.

  • We will contact you by email with information to pick up your won photographs on Dec 17, 18, 19, 20, and 121, (if you're local) or we can ship your items to you for an additional fee.
