This course teaches students the ins and outs of file management, file preparation and photo editing to print on an inkjet printer. Students will learn how to set up their Lightroom catalogs, prepare files for editing in Photoshop, and then make final edits for print in Photoshop. The workshop concludes by making a set of sample prints on a range of papers, and if time allows, one larger print on the Bakery’s large format roll printers.

Ink and paper are NOT included in the price of the class.

Required Materials:

  • An external hard drive of image files (Camera RAW preferred: NEF, CR2/3, ARW, DNG or TIFF)

  • Access to Lightroom Classic and Photoshop outside of class

  • Canson Infinity Discovery Pack

Additional Costs:

  • Students can expect ink charges of around $75 if they choose to use all 14 test sheets in their paper packs (6 cents per square inch).

Andrew D. McClees is a photographer and bookmaker based in Portland, Maine. He runs the photo-publishing company wastelandbooks, and earned his MFA in Photography at Hartford Art School. Andrew has been a Core Member of The Bakery Photo Collective since 2022 and is the current President of the board.
